Lincoln Way West fell to Naperville North for their third straight lost after winning their first three games in a row to start the season.
With a final score of 38-33, Lincoln Way fought a hard battle against The Huskies all the way down into the fourth quarter.
In the first quarter, Lincoln Way went up 10-7 and in the second quarter extended their lead to a 20-17 advantage.
Naperville North came out in the second half, firing on all cylinders, scoring 14 in the third quarter to the Warriors six.
The Huskies scored a touchdown again in the fourth to make it almost out of reach as the score sat at 38-26.
LW running back Jahan Abubakar ran the ball from the 6-yard line into the end-zone as time expired to give the final score of 38-33.
Lincoln Way West quarterback Chase Hetfleisch had a decent game despite throwing three interceptions. Hetfleisch completed 17 of his 36 pass attempts for a total of just under 200 yards and a touchdown.
Abubakar had another great game on the ground, carrying the ball 24 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns.
The Warriors will look to get out of their slump Friday as they prepare to take on the 4-2 Centennial Chargers. Kickoff will be at 7:00 pm.
