Volleyball's playoff run came to a thrilling conclusion in a 8-25, 25-20, 23-25 defeat at the hands of top-seeded Lockport at the Bolingbrook Sectional of the IHSA playoffs on Nov. 5.
After a slow start in first set against one the state's top teams, the Warriors found their game, taking the second set 25-20.
According to Lincoln-Way West coach Kendall Villa, the first set was not indicative of what the Warriors can do, while they the second and third were much better.
"The fight, the fight is what I love about these girls," said Lincoln-Way West coach Kendall Villa, whose fourth-seeded team upset the top seed in the sectional. "They are not going to give it up. They are going to go out there and fight against some of the biggest girls in the state."
The final set was an exciting back and forth contest, but went in favor of Lockport.
LWW finishes the season 25-12 overall.
