The Lincoln-Way West girls varsity softball team achieved a decisive 6-0 victory over Lemont High School on Thursday, May 22. This win improved their season record to 20-11. The Warriors' performance was marked by strong efforts both at the mound and at the plate, resulting in a shutout for the home team.
According to reports, pitcher Abby Brueggmann led the team's effort on the mound with seven innings pitched. She allowed just four hits, no runs, and struck out seven batters without issuing a walk. Offensively, Reese Forsythe contributed significantly by hitting a home run, driving in two RBIs, and scoring two runs while going 2-for-4 at the plate.
Additional contributions came from Molly Finn, who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Reese Cusack added a double, an RBI, a run, and a walk while going 1-for-3. Kaylea Armstrong and Reese Rourke each doubled during the game. Jess Noga recorded a triple and scored a run, while Madi Lukasik also drove in a run for the Warriors.
Lincoln-Way West is set to return to action on Friday, May 23, hosting Sandburg High School at 4:30 p.m. Fans can anticipate that the Warriors will build on their momentum as they aim for another victory at home.
