The Lincoln-Way West Warriors secured the Regional Championship on Friday with a 2-0 victory over Victor J. Andrew High School, improving their season record to 23-11.
According to the team's performance report, pitcher Abby Brueggmann delivered a dominant performance, pitching all seven innings while allowing just three hits and striking out three without issuing a walk.
Offensively, Brueggmann went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Kaylea Armstrong also contributed by going 2-for-3 with a run. Madi Lukasik drove in a run and reached base three times via two walks and a hit by pitch. Paige Seivert and Jess Noga each added hits and walks, while Reese Rourke chipped in an RBI.
The Warriors will next face Lincoln-Way Central in the sectional semifinal on Tuesday at Lockport, with the first pitch scheduled for 4:45 p.m.
