Abubakar and the Warriors headed to playoffs after Senior Night win against Bradley-Bourbonnais

Drum roll please … Lincoln Way West is headed to the IHSA playoffs after securing a dominating win against rival Bradley-Bourbonnais. LWW commanded all four quarters of the game this past Friday which led to a 51-7 Warriors victory.

After the first half everyone in the stadium knew the game was over, as Lincoln Way walked into the locker room with a 32-0 lead. 

The first two quarters concluded with scores from Jimmy Talley, Austin Rowswell, and Quinn Forsythe.

LWW wide receivers Austin Rowswell, and DeAndre Coates contributed touchdowns in the third quarter. 

Bradley-Bourbonnais was finally able to get in the end-zone at the end of the third quarter on a 7-yard touchdown run, but that was the beginning and the end of their scoring on the night.

Warriors backup quarterback Grant Tustin was inserted in the fourth quarter, and led his team down the field, handing the ball off to running back Jackson O’Connor to score the last touchdown of the night on a 2-yard run-in. 

Lincoln Way West quarterback Chase Hetfleisch celebrated his Senior Night and final regular season game with an amazing performance, throwing for 252 yards on 19 of 23 completions, and five touchdowns. 

Jahan Abubakar, LWW’s starting running back had a decent night rushing as well. He established 94 yards on 22 carriers.

The Warriors defense, led by Josh Veldman, deserves a shout out as well, as they held the Bradley offense to a total of just 164 yards. 

Lincoln Way will travel to Pekin, Ill. to take on the Pekin Dragons this upcoming Friday in the first round of the IHSA Class 7A playoffs, kickoff will take place at 7:00 p.m.
