Lincoln-Way West High School is reminding student-athletes to complete and upload their required sports physicals before the deadline to ensure eligibility for the upcoming fall sports season.
According to a statement from the school, fall sports are set to begin on Sunday, August 11. Students wishing to participate must have a current physical on file. The school encourages families to use the summer period to schedule and upload their forms by noon on Friday, August 8.
“Summer is the best time to get a physical since it will not expire during any sport season,” the school said in a release. Physicals are valid for 13 months and must be uploaded as a single PDF file (under 10MB) to Skyward, not Snap Manage.
Freshmen entering ninth grade only need to upload their standard ninth-grade physical unless it expires during the upcoming season. In such cases, a separate sports physical is unnecessary. Officials emphasize that no student-athlete will be allowed to participate in practices or competitions without a valid and current physical on file.
