Lincoln-Way boys varsity lacrosse team delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday, defeating Washington Community High School 12-7 in an away game.
According to Head Coach Jackson, Lincoln-Way controlled the pace from the opening face-off and maintained their dominance throughout all four quarters. “Our guys came out fast and aggressive,” Jackson said. “I’m really proud of how they stayed focused and played with intensity for all four quarters.”
Sophomore attackman Collin Kannenberg led the scoring with a career-best six goals, breaking through Washington’s defense with speed and precision. Kannenberg’s breakout performance was pivotal in a game where Lincoln-Way’s offense consistently pressured the Panthers.
Another key contributor was sophomore face-off specialist Logan Yerkey, who won nearly 80% of his face-offs, helping Lincoln-Way maintain possession and control momentum throughout the game.
The victory marks a strong showing for Lincoln-Way as they continue their spring campaign. With underclassmen like Kannenberg and Yerkey stepping up, Lincoln-Way is building confidence heading into the latter part of the season. The team returns to action later this week as they look to build on Wednesday’s victory.
