The Lincoln-Way West Warriors (5-2-2) boys varsity soccer team took on the Kankakee Kays (4-7) Sept. 21. The Warriors were full of confidence in their game, winning 5-2.
The Warriors star player Cohen Cox gave LWW the lead right away with an assisted goal.
Sam Irigoyen followed Cox’s goal with a successful penalty kick to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.
The Warriors went up 3, when Dan Maeder scored a goal inside the 6 from a great pass by Brendan Vlasak.
Ben Parks bumped up the score to 4 with a great strike from range assisted by Reece Eggener.
The final goal was finished by Irigoyen, with a header from a corner kick played by Marcel Lepionka. At the time of this reporting, the Warriors were 5-2-2 on the season.
