The Lincoln-Way West boys cross country team achieved a 10th place finish overall with 239 points, showcasing notable performances from senior Nick Dul and junior Hunter Spee. Both athletes qualified for the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Finals. The meet occurred on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Maxwell Park in Normal.
According to the team’s report, Dul led the Warriors with a strong finish in his final sectional appearance, securing his spot at the state meet through consistent pacing and late-race surges. Spee followed closely behind with a determined effort, earning his first career ticket to state competition. Seniors Anthony Lusciatti and Adrian Acosta concluded their high school cross country careers with solid races. Meanwhile, underclassmen Parker Ethridge, Ethan Brauch, and Tyler Jastrzab gained valuable postseason experience that bodes well for the program’s future.
Next Saturday at Detweiller Park in Peoria, Dul and Spee will compete at the IHSA State Finals where they will represent Lincoln-Way West among Illinois’ top runners.
The Warriors’ 10th-place finish marked a steady improvement from their previous sectional outing against Lincoln-Way Central, which took first place with 59 points. The team’s balanced mix of veteran leadership and young talent continues to build momentum heading into 2026.
