Lincoln-Way West alum and Western Kentucky freshman golfer Kaylee Dwyer shot 77-75-71 (+7) over three rounds for the Hilltoppers as they took second place in the 15-team University of Lousville Cardinal Cup tournament
The Cardinal Cup took place Sept. 13-15 at the 6,374 yard, Par-72 University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, KY.
Dwyer, 18, tied for second among individual golfers in the field for Par-5 scoring (4.75). She tied for 16th overall among 84 individual golfers.
Earlier this season, Dwyer competed in the Purdue Boilermaker Classic in West Lafayette, Ind., Sept. 2-3, shooting 244 over 54 holes to tie for 76th place as an individual.
The Mokena native won the 2023 2A state championship and was a four-time Illinois State Tournament qualifier and three-time IHSA Regional Champion at Lincoln-Way West. She also won the Illinois Junior Golf Association Players Challenge Championship three times.
WKU and Dwyer are back in action Sept. 20-22 for the Lady Paladin Invitational, hosted by Furman, in Greenville, S.C.
