The Lincoln-Way West Girls Tennis Team made history by securing its first-ever IHSA Sectional title, in the sectional match hosted at Lincoln-Way West.

The team’s triumph was spearheaded by Singles Champion and State Qualifier Emily Tigchelaar, who dominated her flight to become the first LWW Girls’ player to achieve this feat. 

Additionally, the 3rd Place Doubles Team, made up of Jess Dakin and Grace Cremieux, also earned State Qualifier status. 

The team’s success was further bolstered by the performances of Singles player Lily Kulhan and the Doubles duo of Avery Webb and Amelia Peterson, who all contributed to the Warriors’ overall victory. 

This milestone Sectional Championship marked a significant breakthrough for LW West Girls’ Tennis, demonstrating the program’s growth and development.

The LW West Varsity Girls Tennis Team improved to a 3-1 record in SWSC play, after defeating Victor J Andrew High School 5-2.
