Former Warrior varsity tennis stand-out Cate Gerl won her doubles match as the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans defeated Loras College and fell to Wartburg College in a triangular meet at Loras in Dubuque, Iowa.
Gerl and her tennis partner, Courtney Carpenter of Oshkosh, won their match against Loras, 6-3.
Gerl has played in five doubles matches on the season and is 3-2.
A sophomore from Joliet who graduated from Lincoln-Way West in 2021, Gerl was SWSC All-Conference as a senior and had a 21-14 doubles record with her partner, Hannah White.
Gerl previously played tennis for the Moraine Valley Community College Cyclones, where she was part of a conference and regional championship team that won a bid to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Women’s Tennis Championship.
Gerl’s parents are Charles and Cynthia Gerl. She’s an exercise science major at UW-Oshkosh.
