The Lincoln-Way West girls varsity badminton team began their season with a strong performance on Monday, achieving first place in a quad meet against Joliet West, Oak Lawn, and Lemont. The Warriors secured victories in each matchup with a 6-2 score, concluding the event with an unblemished 3-0 record.
According to the competition format, which included four singles and four doubles matches per round, Lincoln-Way West demonstrated depth and consistency. Senior Jess Dakin led at No. 1 singles, remaining undefeated throughout the day with a 3-0 record. Her performance was instrumental in securing the team’s victory.
Head coach Chris Hack praised the team’s performance, emphasizing their focus and teamwork. “The girls played with great energy and executed well in both singles and doubles,” Hack said. “It’s a great start to the season, and we’re looking forward to building on this momentum.”
