Girls Volleyball: Warriors win three, lose two at Plainfield North Mizuno Crimson Classic

The Warriors’ girls varsity volleyball team won three games and lost two, placing 21st of 32 teams in the 2024 Mizuno Crimson Classic at Plainfield North H.S.

On Friday Aug. 30, the Warriors lost to St. Ignatius in their first game, two sets to one. They won the first set, 28-26, but lost the following two, 25-19 and 15-12.

In their second game, they defeated Plainfield East, two sets to zero, winning 25-19 and 25-16 to place third in their four-team pool, behind Oak Park and River Forest (5-4 season record) and St. Ignatius (6-2).

In bracket play, the Warriors lost their opener to Downers Grove South, two sets to one. They lost the first set 25-15, won the second, 25-19 and lost the third, 15-11.

They then defeated Plainfield North, two sets to zero (25-10, 25-19) and Rockford Guilford, two sets to one (25-17, 19-25, 15-13) to take 21st place in the tournament.
