Lincoln-Way West senior third baseman Jackson Mansker enters his final season as one of the Warriors’ experienced varsity contributors, bringing both production at the plate and leadership on the field.
Mansker has started at third base for the past two seasons, a role he earned after progressing through the program from the freshman and junior varsity levels. He credits his hitting ability and vocal leadership as key factors in his development.
“I would say my hitting has been a big part of this program,” Mansker said. “My leadership too — just trying to be more vocal to the guys and pass things on to younger kids.”
One of Mansker’s favorite high school memories came during a trip to Georgia, where the Warriors battled through a marathon extra-inning contest.
“That game went into like 13 innings,” he said. “It was just a back-to-back battle. It was crazy.”
After batting around .290 last season, Mansker has set ambitious goals for his senior year, aiming to raise his average significantly while helping anchor the lineup.
“My goal is to get at least .350 and maybe build on that.”
Mansker also praised teammate Connor for an outstanding offensive season that included a .450 average and nine home runs, highlighting the team’s depth and chemistry entering the year.
Inspired by major league third baseman Alex Bregman, Mansker admires the grit and intensity Bregman brings to the game and hopes to reflect that same mindset as the Warriors pursue a successful season.
