The Lincoln-Way West Girls Swim/Dive team concluded their season at Lincoln-Way Central’s Sectional meet on Nov. 9.
Lincoln Way West secured 7th place out of 12 teams, and the young lady swimmers achieved a 100% season-best time across all events. The final scoring and placements demonstrated their relentless drive and determination, while the divers attained season-best scores, underscoring their prowess.
Standout achievements on the day included, Kate Giroux’s diving, ranking 6th with 382.55 score, and Lily Conoboy’s 6th place in 500 freestyle with 5:29.79 time.
The relay team of Isabella Shenberger, Dana Dykshorn, Ally Donovan, and Lily Conoboy’s competed in the 400 freestyle relay, and brought home a fifth place finish with a time of 3:54.37.
When asked about his perspective on the season, Coach Eric Pavlacka was beaming with pride.
“This was one of the most enjoyable seasons for me from a coaching perspective,” he said. “Our Varsity swimmers were all hard-working girls that pushed and encouraged each other throughout the season, and their hard work paid off with excellent swims at Conference and Sectionals this year. I couldn’t be more proud of our girls!”
