The Lincoln-Way West Warriors softball team secured a decisive 19-4 victory over Plainfield North on Saturday, marking their second consecutive win of the season.
According to the team’s performance report, Lincoln-Way West’s offense was formidable from the outset, amassing hits and runs throughout the game. Reese Forsythe was instrumental in this effort, achieving a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run, double, two RBIs, three runs scored, and a stolen base. Madi Lukasik also delivered an impressive performance with a 3-for-3 finish that included a home run, four RBIs, three runs scored, and a stolen base.
Molly Finn contributed powerfully to the lineup by going 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Reese Rourke added to the offensive strength with three hits in four at-bats, including two doubles, an RBI, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. Jess Noga played a pivotal role both offensively and defensively; she went 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs, and a run while pitching all four innings to secure the win. Noga struck out five batters during the shortened game.
Abby Brueggmann added to the scoreline with a double, an RBI, two runs scored, and was hit by pitch once. Kaylea Armstrong also made significant contributions with two hits, two runs scored, and a stolen base.
With this dominant performance behind them, the Warriors aim to maintain their momentum as they prepare to face Joliet West at home on Monday. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
