Lincoln-Way West High School’s boys varsity cross country team secured a fifth-place finish with 120 points, advancing from the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Regional on Saturday.
The meet occurred on October 25, 2025, at noon at the designated regional competition site. Senior Nick Dul led the Warriors with an All-Regional performance, guiding the team to a strong finish that ensured their place in the sectional round. Joining Dul in advancing are Hunter Spee, Parker Ethridge, Anthony Lusciatti, Adrian Acosta, Tyler Jastrzab, and Ethan Brauch. The team’s depth was crucial as several runners achieved season-best times to secure the final qualifying spot.
According to reports, Lincoln-Way West will next compete at Maxwell Park in the IHSA Sectional Championship next weekend. The Warriors aim to qualify for the state meet scheduled for Saturday, November 1, at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
In their previous regional appearance against many of the same teams in 2024, Lincoln-Way West finished sixth with 138 points, narrowly missing sectional qualification. This year’s performance marks progress for the Warriors as they seek to extend their postseason run under Dul’s leadership and continued team improvement.
