Lincoln-Way West’s boys varsity basketball team was defeated on Friday night, losing 67-55 to Lincoln-Way East in a conference matchup.
According to the game report, the Warriors (11-12, 5-7) kept the contest competitive, but the Griffins managed to pull away late in the game to secure their victory. Senior guard Drake Been led Lincoln-Way West’s offense with 21 points, successfully making seven three-pointers. Wyatt Carlson contributed an additional 13 points.
With this loss, Lincoln-Way West falls below a .500 overall record but remains competitive as the conference season approaches its conclusion. The Warriors are set for a quick turnaround as they prepare to face Oak Forest at home on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. during the Warrior Showdown.
