Lincoln-Way West boys varsity golf team achieved a commendable fifth-place finish at the Southwest Suburban Conference Tournament on Tuesday. The team recorded a score of 313 on the Gold Course at Green Garden Country Club.
According to the tournament results, senior Logan Kelley led the Warriors with an impressive round of 1-over par 73. His performance tied him for second place individually and earned him All-Conference honors. Junior Jack Djulabic also made it to the All-Conference list with a steady round of 77, placing him in a tie for 11th place.
The depth of Lincoln-Way West’s team was evident as Colin Ladd scored an 81 and Judd Portwood added an 82, contributing critical scores that reinforced the team’s standing in a competitive field.
Lincoln-Way West finished just 13 strokes behind conference champion Lincoln-Way East, which scored 300, demonstrating their ability to compete with top programs in the area. The Warriors outperformed several conference rivals, including Bradley-Bourbonnais, Andrew, Stagg, and Homewood-Flossmoor.
With two players earning All-Conference honors and a balanced roster, Lincoln-Way West is well-positioned to build momentum as they head into the postseason.
