The Lincoln-Way West boys cross country team delivered a memorable performance at the Lyons Township Invitational, highlighted by 23 new personal records and a school record time.
Senior Nick Dul led the charge with a program-best 15 minutes, 40.1 seconds in the 5K, placing 15th overall in a highly competitive field. His time set a new school record and provided a strong benchmark as the Warriors continue their fall campaign.
West finished 13th in the team standings with 346 points, competing against six programs that qualified for the state meet last season. The invitational featured some of the state’s top talent, offering the Warriors a valuable test early in the schedule.
Head coach praised the group’s effort, noting the wave of personal-best times across the roster as a sign of both offseason commitment and in-season growth. The depth displayed on Saturday positions West for continued improvement as conference and postseason races draw closer.
With momentum from Lyons Township, the Warriors look to build on their collective progress and maintain the upward trajectory as they head into the heart of the season.
