Lincoln-Way West boys varsity track team achieved a significant milestone at the Valentine Relays on Saturday, breaking three school records with notable performances in speed and teamwork.
According to reports, the varsity 4×400-meter relay team, comprising Austin Rowswell, Anthony Lusciatti, Hunter Spee, and Zaven Johnson, completed their race in 3 minutes and 27 seconds. Their achievement not only established a new school record but also marked the second-fastest time recorded in Illinois this season.
In another event, Rowswell collaborated with Josh Veldman, Chase Markowicz, and Ryan Stiglic in the 4×200-meter relay to set an additional school record with a time of 1:32. This performance also ranks as the second fastest in the state.
The success was not limited to the varsity team. The freshman-sophomore 4×200 relay team consisting of Michael Kennedy, Braydon McNulty, Caleb Terdic, and Johnson also broke the school record for their division.
These record-breaking performances by the Warriors indicate a promising season ahead as they continue their pursuit of excellence on the track.
