The Lincoln-Way West boys varsity bowling team secured a second-place finish at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) regional on Saturday, earning a spot in the upcoming sectional tournament.
According to the team’s performance records, they achieved a total of 6,191 points, maintaining an average of 206 per bowler. Freshman Ryan Richter led with a score of 1,284. He was followed by senior Logan Nicholls with 1,265 points, junior Matthew Staniszewski with 1,235 points, senior Jayden Kristie with 1,208 points, and junior Nick Dul with 1,199 points.
With this consistent team effort, Lincoln-Way West will proceed to the sectional tournament at Thunder Bowl on Friday. The team aims to secure their seventh state appearance in the past eight years.
