Lincoln-Way West recently honored 16 student-athletes during College Signing Day, celebrating a group of seniors who have committed to pursuing both academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
The ceremony showcased athletes from eight different sports, reflecting the diverse talent within the school’s programs. According to the event details, softball was notably well-represented with six athletes committing to various universities. Abby Brueggmann will attend Saint Xavier University, Reese Cusack has chosen Seton Hill University, Molly Finn is headed to Valparaiso University, Jessica Noga will join Governors State University, Reese Rourke has committed to North Carolina State University, and Paige Seivert will attend Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Baseball also had a strong showing with Matthew Oberts committing to the University of Wisconsin–Platteville, Michael Pettit choosing the University of Notre Dame, Kellen Schulte heading to Missouri Southern State University, and Matthew Staniszewski planning to play both baseball and bowling at Joliet Junior College.
Volleyball players Lily Goyer (University of North Carolina–Wilmington), Sophia Rozga (Concord University), and Kara Stigter (Murray State University) celebrated their commitments. Additionally, Kate Kinsella will continue her soccer career at the University of Wisconsin–Platteville.
