Lincoln-Way West competitive cheerleading earned a berth to the IHSA State Finals after placing third at the sectional round, securing advancement with a composed performance against strong competition.
The IHSA Sectional was held Jan. 31 in Edwardsville, where the Warriors delivered a complete routine to finish third and qualify for the state series.
Lincoln-Way West showed consistency and execution throughout all segments of its routine, meeting the qualifying standard while competing alongside some of the top programs in Illinois. The third-place finish capped a successful postseason showing and reflected the team’s preparation and focus on the sectional stage.
The Warriors’ performance highlighted balance across the routine, with timing, technique and overall execution playing key roles in the state-qualifying result. Lincoln-Way West remained composed under pressure, allowing the team to secure one of the available spots at state.
Up next, Lincoln-Way West will compete in the IHSA State Finals on Friday, Feb. 6, as the Warriors represent the program on cheerleading’s biggest stage.
The state qualification marks another postseason accomplishment for Lincoln-Way West competitive cheer and adds to the program’s continued success throughout the season.
