Lincoln-Way West girls cheer advanced through Friday preliminaries and competed in the final round at the IHSA Class 3A State Finals, closing the two-day competition with a top-10 finish.
The state finals took place Feb. 6–7 during IHSA Class 3A championship competition.
Lincoln-Way West secured its place in Saturday’s finals by finishing fifth in Friday’s preliminary round with a score of 93.64. The Warriors placed among the top 10 advancing teams in a 25-team field, finishing ahead of Lincoln-Way Central, Dundee-Crown, Plainfield North, and Marist to move on to the final round.
In Saturday’s finals, Lincoln-Way West posted a score of 88.92 to finish 10th overall. The Warriors competed against the top programs from across the state, with Lincoln-Way East, Lockport, Edwardsville, and Schaumburg occupying the top four positions in the final standings.
The two-day format required consistency and execution across routines, with teams evaluated on precision, difficulty, and overall performance. Lincoln-Way West’s ability to advance out of preliminaries highlighted the team’s competitiveness in a deep Class 3A field.
The state appearance capped the season for the Warriors, who earned a finals berth and represented the program on the state’s biggest stage.
