The Lincoln-Way West dance team is set to return to the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State competition following a strong performance at Sectionals over the weekend.
According to reports, the team tied for fifth place, securing their spot in the prestigious State finals. This year’s qualification continues an impressive streak for the Warriors, who have consistently demonstrated excellence since 2013. The program has qualified for State every year since its inception, highlighting its long-standing tradition of success.
The team’s résumé includes several notable achievements: IHSA 2A State Runner-Up in 2024, IHSA State Qualifier from 2013 to 2024, Sectional Champions in multiple years including 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2024. They have also been Southwest Suburban Conference (SWSC) Champions with the Varsity team winning in 2015, 2022, and 2024 and the Junior Varsity team winning in various years.
This season, the Warriors have showcased their dedication and artistry, earning them a chance to compete among Illinois’ best dance teams. The State competition will be held later this week where Lincoln-Way West aims to add another chapter to their storied history of success.
