Lincoln-Way West boys basketball earned a 66–59 victory over Argo in a nonconference matchup.
The game was played Jan. 10 at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox, Illinois. The Warriors built momentum through steady play on both ends, responding to Argo runs and maintaining control for much of the second half.
Drake Been led the way with 22 points, knocking down key shots to keep the offense moving. Luke Gouty added 12 points by attacking the basket and finishing in traffic, while Eiden Kubilius chipped in 10 points with a mix of inside scoring and perimeter looks. Lincoln-Way West showed good balance across the lineup, getting contributions from multiple players and moving the ball effectively to find open looks.
Defensively, the Warriors applied consistent pressure, contesting shots, limiting second-chance opportunities and forcing Argo to work in the half court. Lincoln-Way West also capitalized in transition during key stretches, turning stops into points and creating separation late in the third and early in the fourth quarter.
Down the stretch, the Warriors remained composed, valuing possessions, getting timely rebounds and converting at the free-throw line to hold off the Argonauts and secure the seven-point win.
Up next, Lincoln-Way West will face Lincoln-Way Central at 6 p.m. on Jan. 27.
The two teams last met Dec. 19 at Lincoln-Way Central, where the Knights defeated the Warriors 56–53 in overtime.
