Lincoln-Way West girls basketball earned a 55–47 conference road victory over Lincoln-Way East.
The game was played Jan. 29 at Lincoln-Way East High School, where the Warriors pulled away late after a closely contested first half.
The two teams traded baskets early and remained locked in a tight battle through much of the opening half, with neither side able to create sustained separation. Lincoln-Way East applied pressure defensively and challenged shots inside, while Lincoln-Way West answered with timely scoring to keep pace. The Warriors went into halftime within striking distance and came out with renewed energy on both ends of the floor.
Lincoln-Way West began to create breathing room in the second half by tightening up defensively and capitalizing on key possessions. The Warriors limited second-chance opportunities and forced contested looks, helping shift momentum as the game wore on. Mackenzie Roesner led Lincoln-Way West with 19 points, providing a steady scoring presence throughout the night. Molly Finn and Lucy Sheriff each added nine points, contributing on both ends of the floor as the Warriors leaned on balanced scoring. Lincoln-Way West stayed composed in the closing minutes, executing down the stretch to secure the road win.
