The Lincoln-Way West Warriors secured a decisive 45-21 victory over the DeKalb Barbs on Friday at DeKalb High School, driven by a formidable rushing attack and balanced offensive strategy.
According to the game report from October 3, the Warriors established dominance early in the match and maintained their lead throughout. Lincoln-Way West, with an undefeated record of 6-0, applied pressure from the outset. Jimmy Talley and Grant Tustin were instrumental in building a 28-7 halftime advantage, combining for multiple touchdowns. Talley achieved 135 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries, while Tustin contributed 122 rushing yards and three scores. Jackson O’Connor and Nick Sarna also added rushing touchdowns. Zach Hermanson successfully executed all seven extra points along with a field goal. The Warriors amassed a total of 420 yards of offense, controlling time of possession with 28:33 compared to DeKalb’s 19:27. In contrast, DeKalb’s offense struggled to keep up, managing only 233 yards with one rushing score and two passing touchdowns.
Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way West is set to host Bolingbrook at 7 p.m. on Friday, while DeKalb will travel to Sycamore for a game scheduled at the same time.
In their previous encounter, Lincoln-Way West defeated DeKalb with a score of 35-14, continuing their strong performance trend against the Barbs.
