The Lincoln-Way West girls’ fresh-soph cross country team secured the Southwest Suburban Conference (SWSC) championship on Saturday morning, finishing first overall with 38 points.

The meet occurred on October 18, 2025, at Lockport High School. According to reports, the Warriors demonstrated significant depth and teamwork by placing five runners in the top ten to clinch the victory. Adriana Litro led with a fifth-place finish, followed closely by Kate Lemke in sixth, Neve McSherry in eighth, Penny Pinciak in ninth, and Ava Ferrucci in tenth. The team’s impressive 46-second pack split was crucial in outpacing a strong effort from the Andrew Thunderbolts and earning Lincoln-Way West its first SWSC fresh-soph title since 2022.

Looking ahead, the Warriors will focus on postseason competition as both varsity and junior varsity squads prepare for upcoming regional meets. They aim to build on the program’s momentum and depth across all levels.

This victory marks a return to prominence for Lincoln-Way West, which last captured the SWSC fresh-soph title in 2022. The performance highlights the program’s ongoing success and the strength of its young athletes.
