Lincoln-Way West girls’ basketball team enters the new season with a history of success and a senior-led roster under the guidance of longtime coach Ryan White. Over 16 seasons, White has achieved a record of 318-138.
After concluding last year with a 23-12 record, the Warriors aim to build on that performance and compete at a high level in Class 4A.
According to the team’s composition, key returning players have provided leadership and experience. Seniors Ava Tisch, Molly Finn, Sophia Murphy, and Heaven Ward are expected to play significant roles. Juniors Kaitlyn Weaver, Mackenzie Roesner, and Reagan McCracken contribute depth and scoring versatility, offering balance across both backcourt and frontcourt positions. This core group brings size, skill, and poise to the team, enabling Lincoln-Way West to control tempo, execute offensively, and maintain defensive intensity throughout the season.
Under White’s leadership, the program has consistently been competitive. The team has captured multiple regional titles and advanced deep into state tournaments, including achieving a runner-up finish in the 2019-20 season. The emphasis on disciplined defense, balanced scoring, and strong fundamentals has been crucial in sustaining one of the top winning percentages (.697) in Illinois girls’ basketball.
