The Lincoln-Way West Warriors girls bowling team successfully defended their title at the LW Cup championship, securing their third consecutive victory against the Lincoln-Way Central Knights and other competitors.
The event took place on December 20 at Lincoln Way Central High School. The Warriors, entering as defending champions, showcased a strong performance against Lincoln-Way Central and various local teams.
According to the competition results, Lincoln-Way West achieved a tournament-winning score of 5,183, finishing 906 pins ahead of the second-place team. The Warriors had four bowlers among the top five individual performers. Michela Vinci led with a second-place finish and a six-game series score of 1,093, also earning high game honors with a score of 254. Gwen Yakas followed in third place with a series score of 1,065. Cadence Ander finished fourth with 1,035, while Jessica Figueroa completed the medalists in fifth place with a series score of 1,006. This demonstrated the team’s depth and consistency throughout the event.
Lincoln-Way West is set to compete again on January 10 against Plainfield South High School at the PSHS Invite.
The previous LW Cup meeting between Lincoln-Way West and Lincoln-Way Central concluded similarly last year, with the Warriors finishing ahead of the Knights and maintaining their dominance in this annual rivalry.
