The Lincoln-Way West girls cross country team is preparing for another competitive season in 2025, aiming to maintain its longstanding tradition of success. The Warriors have consistently qualified for the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Sectional meet for 16 consecutive years, and this year’s team is determined to extend that record.
According to the team’s plans, they will rely on two returning varsity runners from last season’s fifth-place finish in the Southwest Suburban Conference. Senior Celest Reiling and junior Ellie Trench are expected to lead with their experience and consistency. Reiling is noted for her steady pacing, while Trench is recognized as a gritty competitor. Their leadership will be crucial for a roster that combines seasoned juniors with promising newcomers.
Juniors Payton Guendling, Danity Paape, and Carli Smith are anticipated to add depth and showcase varsity potential after intensive offseason training. Newcomers such as junior Ally Dean, sophomore Adriana Litro, and freshmen Neve McSherry and Penny Pinciak are also expected to make significant contributions as the season progresses.
