The Lincoln-Way West girls’ cross country team achieved a runner-up finish at the Will County Invitational, scoring 68 points to secure second place behind Bolingbrook High School, which scored 64 points.
The event was held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in Will County, Illinois. According to the results from the varsity level, junior Neve McSherry led Lincoln-Way West with an eighth-place finish. She was closely followed by teammates Ally Dean, Ellie Trench, Penny Pinciak, and Celest Reiling, all of whom placed within the top 20 to ensure the team’s podium finish. On the freshman-sophomore side, Kate Lemke and Ava Ferrucci continued their strong seasons by both earning top-10 finishes.
Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way West is set to compete at the SouthWest Suburban Conference Meet on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The team aims to maintain its momentum as it moves into postseason competition.
Previously this season at the Lockport Invite, Lincoln-Way West competed against Bolingbrook and finished third overall while Bolingbrook placed fifth. This indicates steady improvement for Lincoln-Way West as they head into October.
