The Lincoln-Way West girls basketball team defeated Lincoln-Way East by a score of 47–33.
The game took place on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Lincoln-Way West High School.
The Warriors controlled the tempo early and never relinquished the lead, building separation over four quarters against the Griffins. Lincoln-Way West set the tone in the opening quarter and continued to apply defensive pressure throughout the game, holding Lincoln-Way East to 33 points.
Balanced scoring and steady execution helped the Warriors maintain control while limiting second-chance opportunities on the defensive end. The performance reflected a composed effort on both ends of the floor in conference play.
The victory highlighted the leadership and experience of Lincoln-Way West’s senior class, which includes Ava Tisch, Molly Finn, Sophia Murphy, and Heaven Ward. The seniors provided stability as the Warriors improved to 10–7 overall and 3–3 in conference play. Lincoln-Way East fell to 10–9 overall and 2–5 in the conference.
Up next, Lincoln-Way West returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 17, when it hosts Evergreen Park in a non-conference matchup.
