On Tuesday, September 30, Lincoln-Way West girls’ golf team secured a third-place finish in regional play, qualifying for sectionals as a team. The Warriors demonstrated consistency and composure throughout the competition.
According to the team’s performance, Reilly Carlson led with a score of 79, earning sixth place individually. Her round was highlighted by a birdie on the front nine, which set the tone for the day and kept West in contention. Sydney Pohlmann followed closely, tying for ninth with a steady score of 80 that reflected her confident play throughout the full 18 holes.
The success of the Warriors extended beyond their top players. Molly Hogan and Juliana Deboer provided crucial support by carding dependable scores in the 90s to complete the team effort. Their steady contributions ensured Lincoln-Way West stayed ahead of several rivals and secured their spot in the sectional stage.
With balance from top to bottom, Lincoln-Way West demonstrated its ability to thrive under postseason pressure. The Warriors now focus on sectionals, aiming to build on Tuesday’s performance and extend an already impressive season.
