Lincoln-Way West’s freshman and sophomore girls bowling team earned a fourth-place finish at the Joliet West Invitational with multiple medalists in a competitive field.
The tournament was held Jan. 19 at Town & Country Lanes.
The Warriors showed depth and consistency across the lineup, placing three bowlers in the top 15 of the individual standings while competing against several established programs from across the area. Michela Vinci led Lincoln-Way West with a fifth-place finish, delivering a strong series and steady frame-by-frame scoring to anchor the team’s overall result. Cadence Ander followed with an 11th-place showing, while Eve Brkovic rounded out the medalists with a 15th-place finish, giving the Warriors three underclassmen in the top tier of the field.
Throughout the event, Lincoln-Way West maintained solid spare conversion and pin carry, allowing the group to stay within reach of the top teams through each game of the invitational. The team’s ability to respond in pressure frames and close out games with clean finishes helped secure the fourth-place result and demonstrated continued growth from the young lineup.
The performance reflected the development of the Warriors’ freshman and sophomore group and provided valuable experience in a large-field invitational setting, continuing to build confidence and momentum as the season progresses.
