Lincoln-Way West’s girls basketball team earned a 70–41 conference victory over Andrew with a dominant performance on both ends of the floor. The game was played Jan. 20 at Lincoln-Way West High School.
The Warriors controlled the pace from the opening quarter and built separation with steady defensive pressure and efficient scoring in transition. Lincoln-Way West forced turnovers, limited second-chance opportunities and turned stops into points to open up a double-digit lead by halftime. The margin continued to grow in the second half as the Warriors shared the ball, attacked the paint and knocked down perimeter shots to keep Andrew from gaining momentum.
Senior leadership helped guide the effort, with Ava Tisch, Molly Finn, Sophia Murphy and Heaven Ward providing experience, composure and two-way play throughout the lineup. The group helped control tempo, communicate defensively and execute in half-court sets as the Warriors pulled away and maintained control of the game.
Up next, Lincoln-Way West will host Lockport on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. in a SouthWest Suburban Conference matchup.
The last time the Warriors faced Lockport, Lincoln-Way West edged the Porters 49–48 on Feb. 25 in a tightly contested conference meeting.
