Lincoln-Way West’s girls cross country team demonstrated resilience and depth on Saturday, September 27, finishing fourth overall in a competitive field.
According to the event results, the Warriors placed five runners in the top 50. Neve McSherry led the team with a time of 20:12.40, securing 12th place. Ally Dean followed closely in 17th place with a time of 20:32.60, maintaining West’s position against strong programs. Penelope Pinciak contributed with a 24th-place finish at 20:53.30, while Celest Reiling (27th, 20:57.90) and Ellie Trench (45th, 21:40.70) completed the scoring five.
The team’s depth was evident as Adriana Litro (56th, 22:10.20) and Carli Smith (68th, 23:05.20) provided essential support, highlighting the program’s consistency.
As reported by event organizers, the Warriors accumulated 125 points for their fourth-place finish and posted a notable spread of just 1 minute and 28 seconds between their top and fifth runners—one of the tightest packs in the competition. Their average team time of 20:51 underscored their ability to run cohesively.
Lincoln-Way East claimed the team title with 36 points; however, West’s combination of leading performances and pack strength indicated potential for future success. With its balanced roster, Lincoln-Way West appears well-positioned for a strong postseason performance.
