Lincoln-Way West girls water polo steamrolled the Stagg/Andrew co-op 17-7 in a conference showdown.
The game was played on March 24, 2026, at Lincoln-Way West High School.
The win highlights the team’s strong performance this season and reinforces their position within the conference. From the opening sprint, the Warriors overwhelmed their opponents, with Olivya Agema scoring six goals and Ellie Trench adding four. Liv Senesac, Isabella Shenberger, and Melanie Schulz each contributed two goals, while Natalie Briese added one. In goal, Marlo Etzcorn made six saves to help keep the Chargers from gaining momentum, according to Prep Sports USA.
Next up for Lincoln-Way West is an away game against Lincoln-Way Central on April 7 at 5 p.m., a matchup that promises to test their conference dominance, according to MaxPreps.
The rivalry between Lincoln-Way West and Lincoln-Way Central has a notable history. On April 8, 2025, West secured a 10-6 win over Central with then-senior Joey Roedl scoring three goals. Olivia Senesac, Lilyth Swallow, and Isabella Shenberger each added one goal. At the same time, then-senior Grace Brown recorded 13 saves in goal to maintain control of the match, according to Lincoln-Way West Athletics Facebook. That victory followed another significant moment in May 2022 when the Warriors defeated Central in a sectional semifinal. The current roster includes players who have grown into leadership roles since those earlier contests and are preparing to continue that legacy as they face Central again soon.
Lincoln Way West serves grades nine through twelve with an enrollment of 1,941 students during the 2019-2020 school year and is located in New Lenox in Will County. Of these students during that period: grade ten had the highest concentration at 39.4 percent; grade nine accounted for 36.3 percent; grade eleven was at 36.1 percent; and grade twelve comprised 37 percent of enrollment—all figures reported by Illinois Report Card. The student body was made up of approximately 81.8 percent white students, 12.7 percent Hispanic students, 1.8 percent black students, and one percent Asian students during that same school year, according to the Illinois Report Card.
