Lincoln-Way West honored Coach Steve Paulsen for his 40 years of coaching and teaching during halftime of the sophomore football game on Friday, October 17.
According to Lincoln-Way West, Paulsen has coached various sports including football, baseball, softball, and bowling throughout his career. He has served as both head coach and athletic director. His leadership led teams to numerous conference, regional, and sectional titles, including state championships in football in 1997 and softball in 2008.
Throughout his tenure, Paulsen mentored thousands of student-athletes and coaches. The school highlighted his emphasis on teamwork, discipline, and excellence both on and off the field.
Lincoln-Way West expressed gratitude towards Paulsen for his decades of leadership and dedication to the school community.
