Lincoln-Way West’s football team has garnered attention this fall, achieving a 5-0 start with a combination of balance, toughness, and resilience.
The Warriors began their season on August 29 with a decisive victory over Blue Island Eisenhower, winning 47-7. According to reports, the challenges have increased since then, but Lincoln-Way West has met each one successfully. A narrow 21-17 win at Lockport on September 5 demonstrated the team’s ability to secure victories in close contests.
Conference play has further validated Lincoln-Way West’s strength. The Warriors defeated Andrew 17-7 on September 12 and secured a 17-12 rivalry win against Lincoln-Way Central on September 19. These victories highlighted the team’s defensive capabilities, limiting opponents to just 19 points across both games.
Most recently, Lincoln-Way West maintained its composure on the road with a 27-17 win at Waubonsie Valley on September 26, extending their winning streak to five games. Over these five matches, the Warriors have outscored their opponents by a margin of 129-60 while maintaining an unblemished record of 3-0 at home and 2-0 away.
Looking ahead to their next game against DeKalb on October 3, Lincoln-Way West enters October with confidence and momentum, appearing poised for a strong performance throughout the remainder of the season.
