Lincoln-Way West’s Carlson advances to IHSA State Tournament

The Lincoln-Way West girls’ golf team concluded a successful season with a notable performance at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Sectional Tournament.

The tournament took place on Monday October 6, 2025.

According to reports, senior leader Reilly Carlson excelled under pressure, delivering an outstanding round that secured her place in the IHSA State Finals.

Competing against some of Illinois’ top programs, the Warriors presented one of their most comprehensive performances of the year. The team demonstrated consistent play and teamwork throughout the lineup. Carlson’s qualification represents another milestone for the program, highlighting the team’s dedication and growth during the postseason.

The sectional meet concluded a season characterized by leadership, improvement, and memorable moments for Lincoln-Way West. This sets a strong foundation for returning golfers and the future of the program.

Reilly Carlson is set to represent Lincoln-Way West at the IHSA State Tournament at Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur on October 11, 2025.
