Lincoln-Way West newcomer Jackson Trotter enters his freshman season with significant statewide attention, earning the No. 8 spot on IllinoisWrestler.com’s “Top Incoming Freshmen, All-Class” list.
According to the report, Trotter is projected at 138/144 pounds and arrives as one of the highest-ranked first-year wrestlers in Illinois. He is considered a major addition to a Warriors program known for developing state-level talent.
Trotter’s youth résumé in the Lincoln Way Wrestling Club and his technical maturity have helped vault him into the elite group of freshmen ranked across all classes. His combination of pace, mat awareness, and ability to score in flurries has made him a standout on the club circuit. Coaches expect those skills to translate quickly in the high school room.
Lincoln-Way West will likely rely on Trotter to contribute early as the Warriors continue building toward another strong postseason push. His weight class is historically one of the state’s deepest, but his ranking places him among the contenders capable of making an immediate impact.
