According to the team’s performance, senior Liam Wills led the Warriors with a 7-over-par 78, helping maintain their position in the middle of the standings as they prepare for their conference schedule. Lincoln-Way East secured the tournament title with a score of 301, narrowly surpassing Providence Catholic, which finished one stroke behind at 302. Lincoln-Way Central took third place with a score of 312, while Carl Sandburg and Lemont tied for fourth at 315. Lockport claimed sixth place with a score of 321, finishing just six shots ahead of Lincoln-Way West. Host Homewood-Flossmoor completed the standings with a score of 361.
Despite not breaking into the top five, Coach and players from Lincoln-Way West noted that the invitational provided valuable preparation against strong competition. With Wills leading, the Warriors aim to improve consistency across their lineup as the season progresses.
Lincoln-Way West is set to return to action this week in conference play, where they hope to build on their performance and climb higher on the leaderboard against familiar rivals.
