The Lincoln-Way West girls varsity soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over Homewood-Flossmoor during their Senior Night on Thursday. The match took place at Lincoln-Way West High School, with kickoff at 5 p.m.
Senior forward Kiersten White was instrumental in the win, scoring both goals for the Warriors. According to the team, Jay Hughes and Natalie Borchert each contributed an assist, aiding in the team’s offensive success in front of a supportive home crowd.
On defense, goalkeepers Quinn Beebe and Natalie Kohlhagen combined efforts to maintain a shutout, preventing Homewood-Flossmoor from scoring throughout the entire 80 minutes of play.
The victory improved Lincoln-Way West’s record as they continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The Warriors reportedly controlled possession for much of the game, limiting opportunities for the visiting Vikings while creating strong chances on counterattacks.
The evening also served as a celebration of the team’s senior athletes, who were honored before kickoff. The win added significance to the night, marking it as a memorable occasion for the Class of 2025.
Lincoln-Way West is set to return to action next week as they aim to continue their strong performance and prepare for postseason competition.
