Lincoln-Way West football swept rival Lincoln-Way Central on Thursday, with both the sophomore and freshman squads earning victories at home.
The sophomore Warriors earned a 14-6 win in a tough defensive battle. After a scoreless opening quarter, West found the end zone in the second to take a 7-0 lead into halftime. The Warriors added another touchdown in the third quarter to extend the advantage to 14-0. Central struck back in the fourth with a late score, but West’s defense closed the door to secure the win.
Box scores reflected the game’s steady rhythm: West scored seven points in both the second and third quarters, while Central’s six came in the final period. The victory highlighted West’s ability to execute in key moments while keeping the Knights contained until the closing minutes.
In the freshman matchup, West showcased offensive depth in a 22-8 triumph over Central. The Warriors controlled the pace from start to finish, finding consistent success on both sides of the ball to seal the sweep.
Together, the two wins strengthened West’s early-season momentum and underscored the program’s depth across multiple levels.
