Lincoln Way West tops New Trier in holiday basketball game

Lincoln‑Way West defeated New Trier 64‑52 in a non‑conference girls varsity basketball game on Saturday at the Saint Viator Invitational.

The game took place on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, at a neutral site during the Saint Viator Invitational in Illinois.

Lincoln-Way West seized momentum early and never relinquished control, pulling away in the second and third quarters to build a comfortable lead on the neutral court. Molly Finn and Mackenzie Roesner powered the offense with 21 points apiece, combining efficient shooting with timely baskets that stalled New Trier runs. Ava Tisch added 12 points and six assists, helping anchor the Warriors’ ball movement as Lincoln-Way West finished with 15 steals and forced 24 turnovers. The Warriors closed out a complete 64–52 performance by pairing balanced scoring with aggressive defense, including five blocks and steady execution down the stretch.

Up next, the Lincoln‑Way West varsity girls basketball team will take on Lockport (IL) in a road conference game this Saturday, Jan. 3, at noon.

Saturday’s game marked the first time Lincoln‑Way West and New Trier met on the varsity court.
