The Lincoln-Way West Warriors narrowly defeated the Stagg Chargers 1–0 in a varsity soccer playoff match.
According to the match details, the Warriors and Chargers faced off under the lights in a closely contested game at a neutral sectional site. Lincoln-Way West secured their victory with a decisive goal in the first half by Cohen Cox, assisted by Michael Sallese.
The matchup occurred on October 28 during the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 3A Sectional Semifinals, which was held as a neutral-site playoff match.
With this win, Lincoln-Way West advances to the Sectional Final. The Warriors will aim to maintain their momentum in an upcoming match against the winner of Lincoln-Way Central vs. Lincoln-Way East on Saturday at 11:00 AM. The Warriors’ record improves to 3-0 in postseason play.
